Leviticus Chapter 7

   LEVITICUS

CHAPTER

 7

1. This is the ritual of the guilt offering. It is the most holy; 2. at the spot where the burnt offering is slaughtered, they shall slaughter the guilt offering, and its blood shall be dashed against all sides of the altar. 3. All its fat shall be offered: the broad tail the fat that covers the entrails, 4. the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the appendage of the liver, which shall be removed with the kidneys. 5. The priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar as an offering by fire to the LORD; it is a guilt offering. 6. Every male among the priest shall eat of it; it shall be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 1 to 6)

In order to obtain a quick overview of the sacrificial offerings that we have covered so far please click on the following link:-

Due to the repetitions found in these chapters in order not to hinder or harm the spirits of those reflecting on this chapter and others to come, I am going to refer to links for a more in depth explanation. I pray to You oh God that these links compensate for my human weakness and at the same time give a more in depth coverage and insight on such chapters

7. The guilt offering is like the sin offering, there is the same ritual for them; the priest who makes atonement with it shall have it. 8. So, too the priest who offers anyone's burnt offering shall keep the skin of the burnt offering that he has offered. 9. And every grain offering baked in the oven, and all that is prepared in a pan on a griddle, shall belong to the priest who offers it. 10. But every grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron equally.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 7 to 9)

One might look at the book of Leviticus and complain about its content and comment, 'rules and rites this is all boring stuff its not for me! However on reflecting oh God I realise that for every thing that I do there is a ritual that has to be respected. If I am going to work, I have to undergo the daily routine of preparing myself, by performing my daily routine such as, having breakfast, morning prayers, bath-time, preparing lunch and driving off to work. While on the way to work I have to respect the rules that govern safe driving. I cannot decide that driving on the left hand side of the road of the road is boring so today I will start driving on the right side of the road.

The same can be applied to all the rules, rites and regulations that You gave to Moses, Aaron his sons and ultimately even us. The Roman Catholic Church has adopted these rites. However the Holy Spirit of God guides the Roman Catholic Church with reference to which of these rites are to be practised or not. A typical example is that of the sin and guilt offerings. Today we go to the priest for confession we do not offer bulls and rams! However the sacrament of atonement by means of confession is still valid. Therefore the basics are found in the book of Leviticus. In a nutshell we are to reflect on these rites and instructions but on the other hand we are to move forward beyond the horizons and boundaries of this time era and culture and reflect on the form and rites of the application that is valid during our times. Your Word oh God is so fascinating because it can be and is transferred for all times. Thanks oh God for giving us Your Word, that is found in the 'Bible' which is my greatest treasure and is with me everywhere I go as my point of reference.

10. But every other grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron equally.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 10)

On reflecting oh God all the grain offerings were given to the sons of Aaron as Priests among the people of Israel. As people who are called to be holy as sons and daughters of God the offerings of our lives that we offer to God are sometimes dry depressed and arid but, other situations are watered with tears of Joy and consecrated with the oil of God's blessings. Therefore in every situation of our lives we are to give thanks to God, for we can offer to You oh God all our situations that can be any one of the three and God will anoint it with the power of the Holy Spirit and He will change the so called negative situation to a positive one.

11. This is the ritual of the sacrifice of the offering of well-being that one may offer to the LORD

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 11)

Oh God it is your pleasure that we raise our praise and worship to You at all times. When You gave instructions in relation to offerings You also gave us instructions regarding offerings of thanksgiving. This means that we are to communicate with You at all times meaning during the positive moments and even the negative moments of our lives and give thanks for such moments all the same.

12. If you offer it for thanksgiving, you shall offer with the thank offering unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of choice flour well soaked in oil

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 12)

As an offering of thanks giving oh God I am to place before You every moment of my life, those that are rich and fat with reasons for thanksgiving and even those situations that are so unleavened with sorrow, stress and anxiety that leave me speech less thus for only one word that is 'Thanks God for this situation" . Yes even situations oh God where I do not understand why certain things are happening I still give my thanks to You for You see the big picture in my life, while  I only have a limited view of my life and the situations that take place.

13. With your thanksgiving sacrifice of well-being you shall bring your offering with cakes of unleavened bread.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 13)

Oh God You would like us to offer You all of our lives, our well-being and even our desolation's, in a spirit of joy. On reflecting we can never stop thanking You oh God even for those situations that apparently appear to be negative, for you permit everything to happen for our own good even, if at the given time we may not consider all that is happening to us as being positive, we might not even understand the reason behind it! However our attitude still needs to be a positive one based on the acceptance of all as being Your Will.

14. From this you shall offer one cake from each offering, as a gift to the LORD; it shall belong to the priest who dashes the blood of the offering of well-being.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 14)

From the whole offering of well-being one portion was given to You, however it became the property of the priest. May I offer You oh my God more than one portion of my life. May my entire life be an offering to You, may each day of my life, every breath, thought and action be an offering of thanksgiving to You my one and only Father and friend. I would therefore invite you to join me in this song which is a letter of consecration of our souls to God

Please click on the following link:- Letter of consecration to God

15. And the flesh of your thanksgiving sacrifice of well-being shall be eaten on the day it is offered; you shall not leave any of it until morning.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 15)

Oh God since the beginning You had all things planned to the smallest detail. During our times the sacrifice during mass is also totally consumed by the priest and none of it is left over. As the sacrifice of all sacrifices when sacrificing You on the cross, the High Priest also did not want You to remain on the cross alive till the morning and issued the order to make sure that those crucified were dead before this time, however You had already given Your life for our salvation and none of your bones needed to be broken

16. But  if the sacrifice you offer is a votive offering or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that you offer your sacrifice, and what is left of it shall be eaten the next day; 17. but what is left of the flesh of the sacrifice shall be burned up on the third day.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 16 to 17)

There are moments in the life of the Church where the remaining of the Eucharist mainly after mass where the Host is taken to the tabernacle to be consumed during other celebrations with You oh God.

18. If any of the flesh of your sacrifice of well-being is eaten on the third day, it shall not be acceptable, nor shall it be credited to the one who offers it; it shall be an abomination, and the one who eats of it shall incur guilt.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 18)

Eating the sacrificial offering on the third day was considered negative during this period in the life of Your people oh God, however those three days are very special and delicate for after three days You resurrected from the death, the greatest event in the history of our salvation which gave us access to our heavenly home in Your presence when our time comes.

19. Flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burned up. As for other flesh, all who are clean may eat such flesh. 20. But those  who eat flesh from the LORD's sacrifice of well-being while in a state of uncleanness shall be cut off from their kin.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 19 to 20)

On reflecting this is the same as receiving You in our being without before making a sincere confession of our sins. This causes us spiritual harm and we incur more guilt because we were not honest when confessing our sins.

21. When any one of you touches any unclean thing-human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean creature-and then eats flesh from the LORD's sacrifice of well-being, you shall be cut off from your kin.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 21)

Oh Jesus from even the beginning of these times when You were in the process of laying down the foundations of Your future people from whom you would eventually descend in order to continue the unfolding of the plan of our salvation You made rules concerning the welfare of both the body in the sense of means of safeguarding physical hygiene and also means of preserving our spiritual hygiene. As in the case of physical non cleanliness Sin which is spiritual non cleanliness separates us both within our selves and also in our relationships with others, therefore as in verse 21 we would actually feel cut of and even physically and spiritually cut off from others due to strained relationships as a consequence of our sins.

22. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 23. Speak to the people of Israel, saying: You shall eat no fat of ox or sheep or goat. 24. The fat of an animal that died or was torn by wild animals may be put to any other use, but you must not eat it. 25. If any one of you eats the fat from an animal of which an offering by fire may be made to the LORD you who eat it shall be cut off from your kin.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 22 to 25)

Oh Jesus how much You test us in obedience. This is one element of our nature that has not yet been tamed. I thank You for giving us such orders as in the case of Your commandments which help to keep us on track. However among us there are those who choose only what they want to believe and negate the rest. I believe that if we want to be part of Your body on earth we are to be convinced of the whole package or rules of the game or bravely decide not to play at all. It is better to stick to the rules and play than to play with the intention of wining by cheating through breaking the rules. Playing the game as in the Christian love does not mean that we never sin or make mistakes and at times break the rules however this may be done without intention and most of all in faith we can show our repentance and seek the atonement of our sins.

26. You must not eat any blood whatever either of bird or of animal in any of your settlements. 27. Any one of you who eats any blood shall be cut off from your kin.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 26 to 27)

Oh God you make it clear that humans are not to consume the life of birds or any other animals. You made us to be herbivores since the beginning thus creating Adam and gave him the role of a farmer eating from his produce and not killing animals to sustain himself.  The act of murder or killing animals to eat did not originate from You my God.

28. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying. 29. Speak to the people of Israel, saying: Any of you who would offer to the LORD your sacrifice of well-being must yourself bring to the LORD your offering from your sacrifice of well being. 30. Your own hands shall bring the LORD'S offering by fire; you shall bring the fat with the breast, so that the breast may be raised as an elevation offering before the LORD.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 28 to 30)

Indeed oh God your instructions are totally valid. Although we can ask others to intercede for us before You in a spirit of prayer, however this does not replace our own time of private and community prayer. We can easily shove off our responsibility by asking him and her to pray for us, while we remain passive to the situation and become spiritually lazy. Oh God You are warning us against this type of laziness so that we become aware of it.

31. The priest shall turn the fat into smoke on the altar, but the breast shall belong to Aaron and his sons. 32. And the right thigh from your sacrifices of well-being you shall give to the priest as an offering; 33. the one among the sons of Aaron who offers the blood and the fat of the offering of well-being shall have the right thigh for a portion.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 31 to 33)

The priest has an important share in the Eucharistic sacrament during mass. The priest is the only person who eats and drinks from the golden chalice, people like us consume the Eucharist from other chalices, that also contain the blood and body of God but in a different form where both elements meaning the body and blood are given to us as one unit meaning the Eucharist which in substance has in it both the blood and the body of Jesus Son of God and God Himself.

With reference to the Sacrament of the Eucharist please click on the following link:-

The Sacrament of the Eucharist

34. For I have taken the breast of the elevation offering and the thigh that is offered, from the people of Israel, from their sacrifices of well-being, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons as a perpetual due from the people of Israel.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verse 34)

Although oh God we may not offer breasts and other offerings consisting of slaughtered creatures, we offer You every day of our lives, our sinful selves, our days at work, the challenges and dilemmas of our lives our positive moments and even our not so positive moments. Take all as one big offering amen.

I would like to share with you the following song in praise and worship to God it is called 'We bring sacrifice of praise in to the house of the Lord'

We bring offerings of praise

35. This is the portion allotted to Aaron and to his sons from the offerings made by fire to the LORD, once they have been brought forward to serve the LORD as priests: 36. these the LORD commanded to be given them, when he anointed them, as a perpetual due from the people of Israel throughout their generations.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 35 to 36)

Priests are special people who are chosen for a particular mission. They were chosen by God and brought by society there parents and their own selves in particular in order to serve God forever. The lot or share of the priest or religious is God Himself. Oh God You are also to be our choice in life, our main priority and we are to dedicate our lives to you forever.

37. This is the ritual of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the offering of ordination, and the sacrifice of well-being, 38. which the LORD commanded Moses on Mount Sinai, when he commanded the people of Israel to bring their offerings to the LORD in the wilderness of Sinai.

(Leviticus chapter 7 verses 37 to 38)

Now that God had laid down the ground rules and had even given them the tools by which to perform His instructions a new way of life based on His will was introduced and was ready to be implemented and adopted. From the beginning of time to this very day God has also laid down the necessary instructions in order for us to live a life according to His will. Throughout the years the Holy Spirit of God has illuminated world leaders and even leaders on a spiritual realm such as the Pope when changes needed to be made as in the case of Vatican Council 2 and even the protests that took place throughout the years by means of Martin Luther among others. God speaks by means of these circumstances making us aware that something or many things need to be updated or that others need to remain as before. Where God 'senses' a need for change because God is all knowledge and is not limited by time and space the Holy Spirit directly or indirectly passes on the message by means of people in the world and in the Church so that we will always live oh God according to Your will.

I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

I would like to thank You oh God for giving me the Bible for its message is a light that guides me throughout my life be it on a spiritual, psychological and even social level. It has in it all the necessary instructions that help me live a life that is according to Your Holy Will. Thanks for the power and illumination of Your Holy Spirit that prompts me back on track when I decide to follow my ways and plans instead of yours. I would also like to thank You for my wife and many significant others such as Clyde and Marion Attard who are helping me see Your ways in the circumstances of my life. As You are aware I am presently dealing with an issue of forgiveness.

I thank You for showing me by means of these people and by means of Your Good News that I need not remain a slave of my hurts, of my past, of the abuse that I received. Thanks  for showing me that on forgiving those who have trespassed against me and in turn I have also wronged others,  I can then receive Your forgiveness. Thanks for helping me realise that those who hurt me did not themselves have the adequate tools to manage themselves and that their behaviour was the fruit of this lack of skills and not because they had the bad intention of harming me. I pray for these people such as my father and forgive him in Your presence .I pray that one day You will create circumstances where I can verbally forgive him from my heart and then my sacrificial offering will be complete. Oh God my spirit wishes to overcome itself, but I feel weak to make the first step because I am afraid of putting myself in danger again and be hurt again. However this time my perception is different because I know that it is the Holy Spirit that dwells in me that will do the talking and not my sinful self. Amen.

Leviticus Chapter 6

LEVITICUS

CHAPTER

6

1. The LORD spoke to Moses saying: When any of you sin and commit a trespass against the LORD by deceiving a neighbor in a matter of a deposit on a pledge, or by robbery, or if you have defrauded a neighbor, 3. or have found something lost and lied about it-if you swear falsely regarding any of the various things that one may do and sin thereby-4. when you have sinned and realize your guilt, and would restore what you took by robbery or by fraud or the deposit that was committed to you, or the lost thing that you found, 5. or anything else about which you have sworn falsely, you shall repay the principal amount and shall add one-fifth to it. You shall pay it to its owner when you realize your guilt.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 1 to 5)

Oh God You are so just and fair in the was that You deal with us. In order for Your people to start their relationship with You and each other You gave them this 'civil code' that would help them to control their behaviour in their daily interactions. You are so wise, that You know human nature so much that You addressed the issues of corruption and retribution for crimes or negative actions that we commit versus each others. I bless You for taking care of us so to the minutest of details. In our civil code, the Court issues a fine or multa and or even imprisonment, however it does not legislate that the stolen property be returned to its rightful owner as it should be. The court will benefit from the sum incurred by the offender, however the victim is not compensated which is totally unfair. Thanks for being so fair with humanity.

6. And you shall bring to the priest, as your guilt offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish from the flock, or its equivalent. for a guilt offering. 7. The priest shall make atonement on your behalf before the LORD, and you shall be forgiven for any of the things that one may do and incur guilt thereby

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 6 to 7)

Oh God thank You for giving the us the feeling of guilt, for if we do not feel guilty we can never experience the need of repentance. Therefore we would remain deep in our sins and would never be able to experience your loving forgiveness. I pray for your forgiveness because although I accept your forgiveness I still feel hurt by others such as my father and still cannot bring myself to forgive him. I pray to You oh God to grant me this forgiveness because I feel that I am blocked in this area. I feel a hypocrite in guiding others to forgive and then I still cannot forgive my father for having abused me emotionally and destroyed and important part of my life. However I have faith that although I cannot reverse time, I am convinced that You will have mercy on me and give me the needed healing and forgiveness at the proper time.

8. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 9. Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the ritual of the burnt offering.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 8 and 9)

God gave Moses particular instructions in order to ensure that the sacrificial offerings would be offered in a way that would be according to Your will. Following will oh God is a sacrifice in itself, because obeying You at times means going against our human nature. Therefore, this requires that we are disciplined in self-control, so that in time our sinful self starts obeying Your Will and you will give us the needed control over ourselves. However until then You have given us Your commandments and sacraments in order to guide us make sure that we stay in Your ways. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to confess our sins and be reunited with You again every time our sinful gets the better of us and we end up breaking some or all of your rules.

10. The priest shall put on his linen vestments after putting on his linen undergarments next to his body; and he shall take up the ashes to which the fire has reduced the burnt offering on the altar, and place them beside the altar.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 10)

It seems that for this particular task the priest puts on special vestments. This shows oh God that the vestments worn by priests are special because they have been made for them to carry out special tasks. As members in the Roman Catholic Church and other churches we all have special tasks to fulfill. As the clothes are assigned to a particular function so are we assigned as special function that of by both words and our way of life proclaiming the good news of the Word of God to all in our circles and even beyond.

11. Then he shall take off his vestments and put on other garments, and carry the ashes out to a clean place outside the camp.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 11)

Oh God you respect us as a whole. Our life is a total sacrifice and You therefore respect us as one whole offering to You, so much that You ordained that even our ashes are treated in respect and not to dumped in any place, but in a clean place outside the camp. As humans our remains are also placed in a respectful place such as a cemetery and not in any place because even our remains are holy a remnant of who we were.

12. The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it shall not go out. Every morning the priest shall add wood to it, lay out the burnt offering on it, and turn into smoke the fat pieces of the offerings of well-being. 13. A perpetual fire shall be kept burning on the altar; it shall not go out.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 12 to 13)

Oh God, the fire of our faith in our hearts is also never to go out. On the contrary we are to keep on adding fuel to the flame to keep it burning. Our fuel may consist of good deeds of love to others, loving those who are totally against us, offering our labours and heartbreaks and even offering in praise our thanksgivings to You my God.

14. This is the ritual of the grain offering: The sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, in front of the altar. 15. They shall take from it a handful of the choice flour and oil of the grain offering, with all the frankincense that is on the offering, and they shall turn its memorial portion into smoke on the altar as a pleasing odor to the LORD.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 14 to 15)

Oh God how loving You are. In order to enable our understanding, You gave us details not only of the significance, but also of the methodology of how to carry out the action. Therefore it follows that You valued the theoretical aspect as much as the practical. In the course of our life You also gave us the theoretical, that is Your values transmitted through your commandments and then in order to help us apply them You gave us the New Testament which is the application of all that is mentioned in the Old Testament along with other updates.

16. Aaron and his sons shall eat what is left of it; it shall be eaten as unleavened cakes in a holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting they shall eat it.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 16)

As in the case of Aaron and his sons You oh God also invite us to consume our share of the sacrificial offering that is Your Body in the Eucharist. We also have our share in your loving kindness and in the chalice of our life, that we are to drink from it every day of our life in faith that only in You and with You do we ever have a chance of experiencing our salvation and unity with You.

17. It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their portion of my offerings by fire; it is most holy, like the sin offering and the guilt offering. 18. Every male among the descendants of Aaron shall eat of it, as their perpetual due throughout your generations, from the LORD's offerings by fire; anything that touches them shall become holy.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 17 to 18)

The same is to be said with reference to the Holy Eucharist. Any priest who comes into contact with the body of Christ partakes of that holiness. As the people of God we consume the Eucharist and so we also partake of that holiness which is the presence of God in us, however our sinful nature is always in conflict with Your presence oh God and at times we lose the power of Your presence in us due to our sins.

19. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 20. This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall offer to the LORD on the day when he is anointed: one-tenth of an ephah of choice flour as a regular offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 19 to 20)

As Christians although we are not all ordained as priests oh God we all make part of the universal priesthood and therefore we are all an offering to You oh God. On reflecting I offer my work offline and even my prayers both morning and evening. May my prayers, the prayers of a sinner appear before you oh God and may you consume these prayers as in the case of the burnt offerings so that we may all benefit from your grace and intercessions. This morning I offer you a person who wishes to reunited with his loved one who happens to be of another status. Please break down these barriers so that love will conquer over all boundaries and unity will be possible. I also offer a prayer on my behalf, so that what I include in these posts will be always the fruit of prayer and not of rational thinking. May all who receive these posts make an experience of You in their hearts. I offer You oh God all followers on G+ Facebook and even Twitter as one big offering and entrust all in your care as one big offering at all times morning evening and the darkest hour of the night. May your blessings always surround them like a big shield or firewall against the forces of evil.

21. It shall be made with oil on a griddle; you shall bring it well soaked, as a grain offering of baked pieces, and you shall present it as a pleasing odor to the LORD.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 21)

Oh God and father may we always be soaked with your oil of consecration thus making us a worthy offering to be presented before You and offered to You in Your holy presence. On leaving this earth may we be anointed with Your blessings and not be totally immersed in our sins. May our lives be one great offering to You.

22. And so the priest, anointed from among Aaron's descendants as a successor, shall prepare it; it is the LORD'S-a perpetual due-to be turned entirely into smoke. 23. Every grain offering of a priest shall be wholly burned; it shall not be eaten.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 22 to 23)

As an anointed priests to you oh God, You have given them special tasks that only they can perform. Such tasks are the consecration of the Holy Eucharist during mass. Therefore we are to pray for more vocations because without such important people we would find it impossible to receive You in communion.

24. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 25. Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the ritual of the sin offering. The sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD at the spot where the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 24 to 25)

Oh God once something is confirmed by You and Your authority it becomes a rule in my life. The world proclaims many so called 'truths' however on reflecting there is not a grain of truth in many of these so called beliefs. The only real truth and reality is that even though we may make a career of ourselves, or even reach the peak of our lives, we are destined to die and leave behind us all these accomplishments and be reunited with God in heaven if it is Your will oh God!

26. The priest who offers it as a sin offering shall eat of it; it shall be eaten in a holy place in the court of the tent of meeting.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 26)

As in communion the priest consumes the sacrificial offering on the altar, which is a special place where You humble yourself oh God and appear in the presence of the Holy Eucharist.

27. Whatever touches its flesh shall become holy; and when any of its blood is spattered on a garment, you shall wash the bespattered part in a holy place.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 27)

On reflecting it follows that if a person who is dedicated to You oh God is so special, even the clothes worn in your presence also become holy because they have been exposed to your holy presence. Therefore even the worn garments are to be treated with special treatment in order to reflect the noble task that they are used to participate in. Moreover as a people of God we are also called to be holy. Although we may not wear special clothes, we are adorned with an immortal soul which also needs extra special care because it reflects the holy presence of God in us. At the point of creation You blew life into their nostrils, and therefore we also carry that breath of life in us and as, holy because it is Yours we are to be careful in how we treat it. If we abuse it by our transgressions we are to go for confession which is the means that brings the whiteness back to our souls.

28. An earthen vessel in which it was boiled shall be broken; but if it is boiled in a bronze vessel, that shall be scoured and rinsed in water.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verse 28)

When considering that the properties of bronze are more honourable than that of simple earth, it is more worthy to contain the holy garments of the priest, even though they are spattered by the blood of the victim of the sacrificial offering.

Oh God I have to confess that as a vessel I am also made of earthenware and not of bronze, the slightest bump may chip my shape and I may not be of worthy service to You anymore for although I pray on Your Word I am still a sinner and prone to error in all areas of my life. I therefore pray that You preserve and protect me from the forces of evil so that  I will be able to serve You in this online ministry of sharing my prayers based on Your 'Good News' with others.

29. Every male among the among the priests shall eat of it; it is the most holy. 30. But no sin offering shall be eaten from which any blood is brought into the tent of meeting for atonement in the holy place; it shall be burned with fire.

(Leviticus chapter 6 verses 29 to 30)

Oh God You are the offering of all offerings, indeed you were offered as a sacrificial offering on our behalf. As sinners we were the ones to merit the harsh passion and crucifixion and not You because You are not a sinner but the means of the atonement of our sins.

I would like you all to join me in this song called 'We bring sacrifice of praise to the house of the LORD'

Song 'We bring sacrifice of Praise to the house of the LORD

I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Thank You for giving me the opportunity to receive You in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. I thank You for not reserving this great benefit only for priests and other holy people but also for me and ll the other sinners. Thank You for giving us the sacrament of confession an opportunity to offer our sins before You in the presence of the priest who represents You. Thanks for turning my sins into smoke. I would also like to thank You for loving me as a sinner and always offering me the opportunity of coming to You in repentance. I would like to thank You for taking the cross and accepting to be sentenced and put to death for my sins. Please help me to carry my cross every day of my life. Your are my love and consolation.
